About me

Initials L.A.D.S

I was born in Antwerp (Belgium) and now live in Santiago (Chile). Mum of two beautiful girls, Lou Marie and Simone and married to Felipe.
Six years ago, my husband proposed me to go on an adventure with him and we went living in Chile. Here I am; constantly torn between two different but equally appealing lives.

I come from a quite traditional family and we had the chance to travel a lot. My parents always learned us to respect different cultures and appreciate the beauty and origins of them. I studied fashion design in Madrid while also working for Dries Van Noten in Belgium during almost 8 years. After that I started to work with big retailers in Belgium and Chile.

Today I feel the necessity to go back to my roots, to do something that really makes me thrill and gives me the sensation of freedom, to take the time to watch, listen, learn, touch and appreciate those little treasures that surrounds us. Wabi Sabi* is my leitmotiv for this project and it gives me the confidence I need to start this project called L.A.D.S.

L.A.D.S. wouldn’t be possible without the help of Sabino Aguad and Henriette De Visscher, creators of Hands Studio. They did not only helped me to create my webpage, took pictures of my interior projects but they are simply the best team I could imagine to work with to launch L.A.D.S.
Wilda Farias also helped takig nice picture for the web. She is fresh and naïve with a great eye for detail.

And of course a big thank you to my family, friends and my two little girls that give me the support and confidence to go forward with this project.

*Wabi Sabi is not found in nature at moments of bloom and lushness, but at moments of inception or subsiding. Wabi-sabi is not about gorgeous flowers, majestic trees or bold landscapes. Wabi-sabi is about the minor and the hidden, the tentative and the ephemeral: things so subtle and evanescent they are invisible to vulgar eyes.
