ALBERTO VITELIO's Silk Vase is born looking for the possibility of manufacturing a product in the last mouth-blown glass company in Chile, Cristalart. This vase is inspired in Alvar Aalto and Aino Aalto's Savoy vase. Just like Aalto's first vases is made using a low cost cast (a carved log) unlike the most recents that are made using metallic casts. From this observation I decided to use a cast consisting in metallic bars and a wood block with holes to hold them. This perforations in the wooden block allow to arrange the bars in different positions to create an unlimited number of designs maintaining an unified language between them. All mouth blowed by the artisan Raúl Lizama.
The Silk Vase is a work of art and dedication it looks beautiful with a flower but can perfectly be displayed as a single piece of art.
